Th. A. Vontetsianos, MD, PhD, Consultant Pulmonary Physician and Chair of Greek Network of the European Innovation Partnership of Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP in AAHA). He was born in Athens, Greece, graduated from the Medical School of Athens and received his PhD degree from the same University. He has been specialized in Pulmonary Medicine and sub-specialized in rehabilitation and Chronic Care in University of Colorado Health Science Center (1986-89). Since then, he has served as first line Consultant Pulmonary Physician in “Sotiria” Hospital of Athens and since 1999, he is the founder and medical director of the e-Health Unit of it. He has been the coordinator of multiple national and EU projects (IST, E-Ten, CIP, Horizon), regarding the ICT enabled chronic care management and integrated care, and he has published over 150 national and international papers, book chapters and conference presentations. He has been awarded by Greek Ministries for the introduction of Medical Informatics in clinical practice of the public hospitals (1991), as well as by EC, for the development of innovative services for elderly and vulnerable populations (2008). Since 2015 is the Coordinator of the Greek EIP on AHA National Network.
